Specializations: AMRD performs an agency or “comprador” function. It buys research for clients, plans and supervises field and prepares analytical reports. As AMRD outsources all field work, it is in a client relationship to all agencies with which it works.

On-going surveys/programs: AMRD’s National China Monitor: ‘China in Transition to a Market Economy’ (CITME), now in its seventh year, operates two waves a year, each of face-to-face interviews in 6,000 households. It comprehensively and precisely samples urban and rural households over all mainland China provinces, other than Tibet. New clients are invited to use the Monitor for their private information purposes, adding questions and using “drop-off” questionnaires for customer completion.
The Business Executives Panel, based in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou tells clients what top executives think about business conditions and business problems in China.
The China Consumer Access Panel, operated in conjunction with fellow IRIS member, N-Dynamics Research & Consultancy, based in Shanghai, provides a reservoir of information for China-wide consumer telephone surveys.
International Involvement: David Bottomley has been a member of ESOMAR, the European Society of Opinion and Marketing Research since 1960, and a former representative in Australia and Hong Kong; a member and former Councillor of WAPOR (World Association of Public Opinion Research), a Founder and Fellow of AMSRS, the Australian Marketing and Social Research Society, and a Qualified Market Research Practitioner.
